Every action runs under the user­’s own Hive account and respects the roles and per­mis­sions they already have, so no one can do more through AI than they can in Hive. An admin decides wheth­er MCP is on, sep­ar­ately for each envir­on­ment, so sta­ging and pro­duc­tion stay under your control.

Do I need to be a developer to use Hive MCP?

No. You work in plain lan­guage. You still need to under­stand Hive con­cepts like con­fig­ur­at­ors, select­ors, and com­pon­ents, so we recom­mend start­ing with Hive Academy before you build.

Is Hive MCP secure?

Every action runs under your own Hive account and respects your exist­ing roles and per­mis­sions. An admin decides wheth­er MCP is on, per environment.

Which AI tools can I use with the Hive MCP?

Any MCP-aware cli­ent, includ­ing Claude, Microsoft 365 Copi­lot, Gem­ini, Chat­G­PT and Curs­or. Because MCP is an open pro­tocol, you are not tied to one vendor.

What is not covered yet in the Hive MCP?

Pro­ject and quotes, delet­ing objects, and man­aging users or pri­cing rules are cur­rently not covered yet.
