Every action runs under the user’s own Hive account and respects the roles and per­mis­sions they already have, so no one can do more through AI than they can in Hive. An admin decides whether MCP is on, sep­a­rate­ly for each envi­ron­ment, so stag­ing and pro­duc­tion stay under your control.

With the MCP, all the Hive doc­u­men­ta­tion is inside my AI tool. So I can just ask Copi­lot any­thing about Hive CPQ and I don’t have to search through the doc­u­men­ta­tion. This is an incred­i­ble timesaver.

Do I need to be a developer to use Hive MCP?

No. You work in plain lan­guage. You still need to under­stand Hive con­cepts like con­fig­u­ra­tors, selec­tors, and com­po­nents, so we rec­om­mend start­ing with Hive Acad­e­my before you build.

Is Hive MCP secure?

Every action runs under your own Hive account and respects your exist­ing roles and per­mis­sions. An admin decides whether MCP is on, per environment.

Which AI tools can I use with the Hive MCP?

Any MCP-aware client, includ­ing Claude, Microsoft 365 Copi­lot, Gem­i­ni, Chat­G­PT and Cur­sor. Because MCP is an open pro­to­col, you are not tied to one vendor.

What is not covered yet in the Hive MCP?

Project and quotes, delet­ing objects, and man­ag­ing users or pric­ing rules are cur­rent­ly not cov­ered yet.
