Build your product tree structure in the Design Studio
One of the first steps in the Design Studio is building your product tree structure. This tree visually represents how your products break down into components and options, giving you a clear overview of the product structure. You can create these options from scratch or pull them in from your ERP, PIM or PLM system.
This not only helps with organizing but also gives you a quick glance
at how your configurator will look to users.
Define your questions
Next, you’ll define the questions that guide users through the configuration process. What kind of questions do you need to ask and how do you want to display them? Create interactive forms by selecting from various widgets, including:
- Titles
- Messages
- Text fields
- (Dynamic) Selector
- Toggle button
- File upload
The sequence of questions is entirely customizable – simply drag and drop them to rearrange the flow and ensure an intuitive user experience. Test your changes instantly in a preview before publishing.
Add your product rules to the items
Finally, add product rules to your items in the Design Studio to ensure the validity of each configuration. You can set minimum and maximum values, define when an entered value is correct, automatically include an option when a certain selection is made, exclude other options, and more.
To add this logic, use our no-code settings to create compatibility, dependency, and validation rules. Or define more complex logic with JavaScript. The logic is based on product master data, pulled from your ERP, PIM or PLM system.
Additionally, you can create and maintain your pricing rules, your document templates, and 3D models in the Design Studio.
