What is Hive AI?
Hive AI uses the power of artificial intelligence to help you build and maintain configurators in Hive CPQ. Unlike typical AI functionalities focused on end-user guidance or sales assistance, Hive AI is built for creators and admins. It acts as a smart assistant inside our Hive Design Studio, translating human language into working configurator logic.
Hive is the only CPQ solution that allows you to create and update your configurator models with AI - automating your repetitive manual work, even allowing you to ask which logic is being used in the configurator for faster understanding and troubleshooting.
How does Hive AI work?
Hive AI leverages advanced language models to understand and convert your input into configurator logic. Instead of manually building different steps in your configurator, adding product rules and logic, you can simply talk to the AI the way you’re used to in tools like ChatGPT.
- Feed the AI with information: Upload a product catalog as a PDF or use the components of your products that you pulled from your PIM system.
- Chat naturally with AI: Ask it to use your input to suggest a working model.
- AI will generate a structured configurator model – determining which product options should be chosen first, taking the interdependence into account.
- You can continue to chat with AI to make changes, e.g., “Add a window size of 100 x 100 cm” or “Change this dropdown to a list view”).
- You review and approve every change before it’s applied in the Design Studio.
- Hive AI will make suggestions considering ‘best practices’ on how you should build your configurator model.
This approach ensures reliability and transparency: you always know what Hive AI is doing and you always decide what gets implemented.
